Player builds form another hot topic for 2K. In NBA 2K21, a new next-gen player editor made its debut that allowed you to set attribute limits as you please. As with any novelty, there were problems to be fixed. We have made a lot of changes to the system to create more balanced builds and give incentives for creating players of all kinds. The little ones will have specific advantages over the longs and vice versa. So expect to see a lot more variety on the virtual streets of the City this year.
The number of distinctive points available has been significantly increased, giving more MyPLAYER options. The new, detailed, player editor screen makes it easier to identify the available badges, the price for each level and the attribute threshold required to reach each level. The numbers change in real time as you change the attribute limits. Another nice addition is the ability to create distinctive features and cheap NBA 2K22 MT! This allows you to quickly and easily change the badges equipped based on how you play on the given day or who we will face. Here are the new badges you can mess with in NBA 2K22:
Reactive - The ability to jump quickly on the pad and dunks from a standing position
Grace under pressure - The ability to score more effectively while stationary
Unlimited deadlift - The ability to jump from much further away for dunk attempts on the go
Home Mouse - The ability for big players to finish more effectively over the shorter player
No steals - The ability to keep the ball safer when picking it up for a pad / dunk in traffic
Chef - Steph's ability to score threes from a long distance dribble
Unlimited places - The ability to score triples on Jerry West long range catch-and-shoot
Settebello - Enhance your ability to make a time trial just started
Expert at Disadvantage - The ability to successfully shoot over the tallest defenders on a substitution
Sticky Hands - The ability to receive difficult balls and quickly turn them into a shot or dribble
Hyper-driving - Increases the speed and effectiveness of dribbling movements
Quick chain - Increases the ability to quickly link dribble movements
Playmaker in post - Enhance the effectiveness of shots and movements in post
Triple Threat Juke - Increases the effectiveness of feints, lunges and restarts in triple threat
Ball Stealer - The ability to steal the ball more effectively on attempts at hand and dunk
Play hard - The ability to recover those balls in messed up situations faster than opponents
Threat - Significantly lowers opponents' offensive ratings when defending in a suffocating manner
With these we reach a total of 80 badges and many of the existing ones receive improvements. There is a lot to choose from, with many ways to impact the game, so the feature to create equipment is welcome. Last but not least, we've brought ALL 80 NBA 2K22 badges to the current generation, a huge improvement for our fans!
One final MyPLAYER improvement that I want to mention is a next-gen exclusive called Impetus Perks. They are modifiers that you can unlock and equip to strengthen your existing Surge abilities! I'm not going to list them all because we want them to come as a surprise, but it's a big improvement to the Impetus system, which adds a level of depth and strategy to online competition.
